Spoiler is a part of vehicle which is usually used to interrupt the air flow. The spoilers can be placed on the front of vehicle. It called as the air dams. But, on the other side, the spoilers which are placed on the back are sometimes called as a rear spoiler. It is a kind of automotive aerodynamic device. The function of spoiler’s design is to spoil unfavorable air movement across the body of vehicle. In some cases, a rear spoiler is usually used or added by the people in order to make accessory to the car. It can add or beautify the appearance of the car. So, the car can become more stylist than before. Unfortunately, the rear spoiler does not only produce a little aerodynamic advantage, but also can produce or make an aerodynamic worse. Often, the people are wrong to define the term of spoiler. They usually explain the term of spoiler as well as the wings. Actually, spoiler and wings are different in some terms. When the design of spoiler is used to spoil unfavorable air movement across the body of a vehicle, the design of wings is used to produce a down force as air passes around the wings. So, it does not simply disrupt the existing airflow patterns. On the other side, the rear spoilers can make the air see a longer and gentler slope from the roof to the spoiler. This can help the spoiler to cancel the flow separation. And this can also make the flow separation slower than before. It aims to decrease drag of the car, and also to increase the fuel economy. Beside it, the rear spoiler can helps the spoiler to keep the rear window clean. Sometimes, the rear spoiler can be used as an accessory in order to make the car over.
